After speaking to my teacher about my possible track choices in our lesson today, I decided on two final tracks to explore music video ideas with. I will then later on choose the idea which I feel will make a stronger video.
I chose these two videos as I feel the artists are both very unique and have strong voices and musical ability. The lyrics to both songs also hold great potential for a narrative.
I shall now create moodboards for both tracks and begin to develop my initial thoughts and ideas into something more solid.

Initial Music Video 3: Incubus - Drive
This music video uses a mixture of animation and real life, which almost reflect each other. This is a predominantly performance based music video, however a bond with the band is made by breaking down the fourth wall through direct eye contact with the camera. This is quite typical of a music video, as it creates a link between the band and the fans.
Initial Music Video 2: The Xcerts - Young (Belane)
The fast pace and jump cuts within this music video clearly reflect the upbeat genre of the music, and also reflecting the title of the song, "Young", as young people are seen as energetic. The storyline within the video is hard to follow at the beginning, becoming more clear near the middle of the video. Although I initially found this confusing, I felt this added to the interest of the music video as I was intrigued to find out what was happening.
Initial Music Video 1: Bright Eyes - Easy/Lucky/Free
This video is interesting as it is simplistic; it is taken from the same angle in one continuous shot. The content of the video itself is what makes the video interesting, as it is a true perspective of the song from the artist - The chaos of the writing on the glass mirrors the chaos of the feeling behind the lyrics.
